Meet Milestones Aspley Centre Manager, Ellise

During her time at Milestones Early Learning Aspley, Miss Ellise has created a wonderful and nurturing environment to really help children thrive. We sat down with Miss Ellise to find out more about her experience as a Centre Manager and what makes her centre so warm and nurturing. 
 

Tell us a little about your experience

I have worked in the childcare industry for over 30 years, beginning my career in Alice Springs! With 14 years' experience as a Centre Manager under my belt, I was excited to begin my journey at Milestones Aspley this year. 

I am so proud of the team we have in our centre – they are all committed to the highest quality of early education and care. We foster a learning environment that recognizes the importance of the children's learning experiences and help create positive educational memories that will last a lifetime. Plus, we have serious fun!

 

  

 

The best part of your role

Every day is so special, I love that every morning I’m greeted with hugs and excitement from all the children.  It is so rewarding to be a part of a child’s learning journey and knowing that I am helping them develop important life skills.  
 

The best part of Milestones Aspley 

We are a big centre with plenty of space for learning and exploration - each room has their own large natural play yard. Of course, the outdoor spaces are some of the children’s favourite areas – with trees to climb, large forts, bikes and mud kitchens. 

As part of our Healthy World program, we have a big focus on sustainability and encourage the children to participate in gardening, worm farming and caring for our centre chickens. 

We also have a dedicated Queensland Government Kindergarten program and this includes free weekly Spanish classes taught by our very own Miss Sandra! (See a lesson sneak peak here!) These classes allow the children to explore Spanish culture though language lessons, song and different games.  

 

 

The children’s favourite part of their day 

As our learning approach is play-based and evolves from the children’s interests, it is easy for every day to be fun and exciting! A day at our centre involves activities based around discovery, exploration of the environment and the development of relationships with their friends and educators.
